Studio Rates
Daily rate (based on ten hours including engineer) £250.00; negotiable for longer sessions (5 days plus). We have arrangements with local, professional producers which will be at additional charge.

Tape/media charges
It has to be said that some studios consider this area a 'nice little earner'. We don't. Basically media is charged at cost, plus a very small uplift for sourcing and stockholding costs.

2" Tape, Quantegy G9 or similar £120.00
1/4" Tape, Quantegy G9 or similar £20.00
DAT Tape, 64 min, Sony or similar £5.00
Cassette, CDR, etc free for small runs

Obviously, hard disk space is much cheaper than 2" tape and essentially there is no charge for recording to hard disk. Your project will be backed up daily to a separate computer in another building as a matter of course. We reserve the right to erase hard disk data after six months unless you make special arrangements for long-term archiving and retention with us, for which a small charge will be payable.

Your project can also be permanently backed up to external hard disk (e.g. a 200gb firewire drive can be purchased for around £150) for easy transport to another studio/software platform, or for you to mix/remix a t home - advance notice required if you wish us to acquire one for you (at cost - or bring your own!).

Tape hire
Hire of 2" multi track tape is available charged at £20.00 per reel (assuming no tape editing). Programme is held for one month or until session is mastered before it is erased.

A standard (10.5") reel of 2" tape running at 30 ips allows approximately 16 minutes and 40 seconds of recording time.

All prices exclude VAT charged at 17.5%. A deposit of 30% is normally requested to confirm the booking.
