control room big picture

The Control room is naturally lit by a large arched church window and two side windows. It is 21' x 18' with an apex ceiling giving a great sound. Air conditioning. Acoustically treated and specially lit to provide the right environment for concentration (producers don't get headaches after 7pm here because they haven't spent all day under flourescent lights which both hum and blind you).

For those who haven't recorded before, a bit of an explanation: the control room is the 'hub' of the recording experience. All the music you make in any of the rooms is recorded on either tape or hard disk in this room and then processed to add effects, edit and generally make it sound the best it can.

All noisy equipment (tape recorders, computers etc.) are contained in built in vented cupboards (to keep them from heating the room up and creating background noise).

This room also contains a small washroom so you don't have to trek downstairs mid-mix.
